Intro
Ray Sharpe was born in Fort Worth, Texas on the 8th of February 1938. He is a singer / guitarist who's recording career started when songwriter / singer / producer Lee Hazelwood took him under his wing which resulted in the release of the 45 "That's the Way I Feel / Oh, My Baby's Gone" (Hamilton 50002) in 1958. The disc flopped, but his (August?) 1959 single "Linda Lu / Monkey's Uncle" (Jamie 1128) was a hit, featuring Duane Eddy on guitar, another artist that Hazelwood produced.

 It seems that Sharpe was never able to match the success of "Linda Lu" again but remains popular locally and still lives and performs in Texas. Two of his recording sessions in 1966 under the direction of fellow Fort Worth native King Curtis featured Jimi Hendrix playing guitar.
