Lineage: 69min, G+, Audience, Master (reel) > 1st > DAT > CDR > wav (pitch corrected)
First "near" source recorded by Niels Christian Hansen with an Uher reel to reel.
This source was used for the Univibes "Jimi In Denmark" cd.
The transfer is one-channel mono. The DAT had the recording in two parts with a 25 sec overlap in Sunshine Of Your Love. The parts have been seamlessly edited back together.
The end of the first section also had a speed problem, it slows down in the end (mainly during Red House) to finally running about -6% slow, this has also been corrected.

Lineage: 68min, G+, Audience, Master > DAT > CDR > wav (pitch corrected)
Second "far" source. Taper unknown.
Small analog noises/distortion throughout. Recorded with autolevels?
The transfer is one-channel mono. Pitch problems on the original transfer are as follows:
tape starts out correct but speeds up about 5% by the time you get to the
cut at the start of Purple Haze. After this cut the speed is 7.5% fast, but
slows to only 4% fast at the end. This was likely the way it was recorded (as the batteries drained). Speed was corrected so that tuning is constant throughout tape.

1 Fire
2 Foxy lady
3 Tax free
4 Spanish castle magic
5 Red house
6 Sunshine of your love
7 I don't live today / Star spangled banner
8 Purple haze

Lineage: Composite of the first and second sources, pitch corrected, heavily EQ'ed, and lightly de-noised. Also, during some segments the gain has been modified to smooth out volume rises / drops between songs. Done in 1999, this disc circulates as ATM-27. Slightly better quality versions of both of the original sources are now available.
70min, G+, Audience, Master > DAT > CDR of second "far" source was used as the main source, Master > 1st? of first "near" source recorded by Niels Christian Hansen with an Uher reel to reel was used to patch in the missing parts

Lineage: 55min, G, Audience, Master > 1st?
Second audience source circulated in 2003, this is the raw version of the tape. The complete tape also includes "Savor" by Santana (live, unknown date & location) and an unidentified instrumental number by an unknown artist.

Lineage: 55min, G, Audience, Master > 1st?
Modified version, circulates as ATM-179 “Cologne 13.01.69” aka “Old Spice”. The left channel of the original source was overdriven and badly clipped. So the right channel was copied to both. This wasn't a problem since the left channel was identical except for the amplification and clipping.

The pitch starts to rise about 1/2 way through the tape on the original source, slowly at first and then accelerating toward the end. The pitch was corrected for this version, with slow variation like this it's impossible to pin down exact locations for pitch corrections so there are still minor deviations
from true pitch. The remaining variations are probably no more than 1% - 1.5%.

Lineage: 56min, G, Audience, Master >?
Released by Dagger Records on the mail order only 2LP (2012) and CD (2013) "Live In Cologne". The liner notes credit Eddie Kramer with the tape transfer so this may or may not be a different transfer of the master tape? Some of the cuts were spliced together for this release and the disc has also been pitch corrected and mastered.

Second audience source. This source first circulated in 2007 when it was released as the bootleg LP "A Magic Time". So far the source tape itself has not circulated, all versions originate from the vinyl lp. This transfer of the vinyl lp was made by "DocTinker". The first track of the original file set was not cut at sector boundary so unless you remove some of the silence at the start of the disc you might get an index click. The transfer is in mono meaning that the vinyl transfer channels were either avaraged into mono or one channel of the stereo was turned into digital mono by copying it into the other channel. The source tape itself was in mono to begin with but cutting a stereo lp from it will of course introduce vinyl noise in stereo.

MD5 (ape) - VIBRATORY MUNSTER'69 MERGE FINAL VERSION 1.31.md5
MD5 (wav) - original_files_wav_vibratory_munster_69_merge.md5
Stereo merge of the three audience sources circulated by "Vibratory" in March 2009. The disc has some noises but these are on the original sources used, the bootleg cds as released had noises as does of course the bootleg lp. The merge sounds a bit strange if listening with headphones but great when listening via speakers. Quote from original notes:

Technical details:
1st source; mixed very softly in the middle.(except in between songs to fill in gaps)
2nd source; mixed to the right at all times.(except in between songs to fill in gaps)
3rd source; mixed to the left at all times.(except in between songs to fill in gaps)

I did not do any EQ'ing or compressing nor did I apply any sort of destructive filtering on the individual
sources.

1st Lineage: no idea but very low-gen
2nd Lineage: from a vinyl-to-CD transfer of the bootleg LP "A Magic Time"
3rd Lineage: from the CD bootlegs "Savage Beethoven" (tracks 1-7) and "Electric Warrior"(tracks 8-10)
(Rainbow Warrior Music RWM 0701 and RWM 0702)

Lineage: 68min, R, Audience, Master (4-track reel) > reel (2-track) > reel (one track of a 4-track reel) > DAT > Cdr > Cdr
First audience source. This tape circulates as a master clone which is incorrect. All copies originate from a reel dub made by a German collector in 1969. The 4- track master was loaned from the taper, copied to 2-track and then dubbed back to one track of a 4-track tape. Thus the only copy known to exist is a 2nd gen mono tape and all currently circulating copies originate from this reel. This cdr came directly from the owner of the reel. The tape has occasional tiny drop-outs all the way through.

MD5 (flac) - Dallas_1969_composite_master.md5
MD5 (wav) - original_files_wav_Dallas_1969_composite_master.md5
This is a composite master prepared from two different copies of this tape. All copies in circulation seem to be incomplete, some copies only run for 46 minutes, others are almost complete at 55 minutes but they all have bits missing that other copies do have and most are high generation dubs with hiss, buzzing & crackle.

Most copies have the end of Purple Haze cut.

Voodoo Child (slight return) fades out on the master but only after circa 9 minutes, many copies have the end of the track truncated.

Almost all copies have some or all of the tune-up preceding Stone Free cut.

So the only option was to make a composite, two copies of the tape were received from Hendrix collectors active since the 70s, both are still hissy and some generations removed from the master but both sounded better than anything else in general circulation at the moment. This composite would now seem to include the complete recording, all cuts in the music were on all copies checked and thus seem to be on the master tape.
